For this school project, we had to immerse ourselves in a specific program for a while and learn new tools. This time I chose Blender, because I had been curious about it for a while. I had had a short lesson in it before, but often found it too difficult to create a really complex scene.
That's why I wanted to take on the challenge this time and build a complete setting with detailed objects. During this period, I listened a lot to Portals by Melanie Martinez, an album with a very strong atmosphere. I decided to convert this atmosphere into an island. I incorporated various elements from her music videos, such as the spider web from Spider Web, the pink lake from VOID and a cave from Tunnel Vision. I tried to capture the general atmosphere of the album in the scene. In the background you can hear Fairy Soirée, my favorite song from the album and, in my opinion, the song that best represents the atmosphere of Portals.
